Ayurveda
Ayurveda is a mind-body health therapy system that was developed thousands of years ago in India. Ayur means life and Veda means science/knowledge. So Ayurveda means the Science of Life.
Ayurveda follows 2 main principles:
- The mind and body are connected inevitably (no matter what).
- The most powerful tool that can heal and transform our body is our mind.
Ayurveda concepts about health and conditions promote the use of herbal compounds, supplements, special diets, meditation and exercise.
Ayurveda therapies are customizable depending on the patient’s mind-body type. There are 3 types called Vatta, Pitta and Kapha. These will be explained in more detail in blog posts so stay tuned and check back regularly to learn more about this as well as tips and tricks to take care of ourselves naturally.
Sometimes Ayurvedic therapies advise a change in lifestyle. Many people have the misconception that turning to Ayurvedic therapy will mean it’ll take a longer time to recover from their illness(es). However, if you make the changes that our Ayurveda Physician advises you to while attending therapies and taking natural medicines as prescribed, you will witness your condition improving tremendously faster than you would have ever expected.
This is just a short introduction to Ayurveda, as it is a very vast subject. We will be covering more in blog posts.
